Yudhisthira (Sanskrit: युधिष्ठिर; Yudhisthira) alias Dharmawangsa, is one of the protagonists in the epic Mahabharata. He is a king who ruled the kingdom of the Kurus, the central government in Hastinapura. He was the oldest of the five Pandavas, or the sons of Pandu.
In the tradition of puppetry, Yudhisthira was given the title "King" and has alias Puntadewa, while the kingdom is called by the name of the Kingdom of Amarta.
MEANING OF NAME
Yudhisthira's name in Sanskrit means "strong or sturdy in battle". He is also known as Dharmaraja, which means "king of Dharma", because he always tried to uphold the dharma throughout his life.

BIRTH

CHILDHOOD AND EDUCATION
